Fishing

Békésszentandrás is a real fishing paradise. If you come here on holiday or for fishing, the conditions are favourable. Three water areas in the municipality are suitable for angling: the Hármas-Körös, where you can find a lot of native fish species, the 28-hectare Sirató-holtág, where you can catch carp, pike, sander, amur, catfish and the Kákafoki-holtág, also rich in fish. In the backwaters you can catch a variety of brown bullhead, bream and occasionally small and large noble fish. Holidaymakers can buy daily or weekly fishing tickets at the PECA Sportbolt (26. Szabadság street, Békésszentandrás; Phone: +36 66 217 163). Only fishing tickets issued by the Körösszögi Kht. are valid for the Kákafoki-holtág. For the Hármas-Körös and Sirató-holtág national permits are valid.

The Békésszentandrás Workers' Fishing Association also has its own sport fishing team, whose members are able to compete in all competitions. Our sportsmen and women have brought home several trophies, cups, medals and various prizes, thus enhancing the reputation of Szentandrás.
